[TriLUG] Debian on basic file server

With only 1G of memory, I would go with the 32 bit. I have heard that 32 bit applications run slightly faster but I doubt that makes an appreciable difference. My experience has been that I've run into compatibility issues more with 64 but programs, as in not being built against the correct library, so unless there is a need for it, I stay away from it.

The PC is an eMachine with 1GB of RAM. Is there any reason why I should install Debian 64 bit instead of 32 bit (I have both sets of DVDs)? I know it's best not to install the GUI, but I don't have the time to do everything via the command line.
