[TriLUG] Front End for PostgreSQL

Just curious, what about PostgreSQL does not work for you? I have actually never used postgreSQL, I have always used MySQL. As far as your solution, I would definitely go the LibreOffice route as a best fit for your description. I played with OpenOffice before, but a long time ago (~8 yrs) as a replacement for MS Access. It did not fit my needs then, but I was trying to migrate a database, not start from scratch. I suspect it has progressed quite a bit since then. My experience was overall good even back then, but I just had to stick with MS Access, because it was an entire application and too much work to migrate.
Good Luck,

I don't want a Web-based application. Everything must reside on a local computer. And because the application will be primarily used by a non-coder, and I want them to be able to make minor changes in the data entry form and report-generating options, anything that requires creating scripts/code is out of the question

Approach uses a .dbf file so it appear the LibreOffice may work.
I wish there was a Linux application that used the X-Base/dBase format.  They all seem to have gone by the wayside.

It appears that PostgreSQL may be fine for me to experiment with, but it won't satisfy my needs.
