A word of advice from someone who is *not* a lawyer/legal professional:

One thing to keep in mind why they may block you from accessing that
information from 'educational sites' is, for instance, to prevent
copyright or patent infringement. Universities routinely patent whatever
its researchers come up with. This is most certainly more common than it
is uncommon.

Regardless of your position on patents or copyrights, they exist & have
to be considered. It will cost the company you work for dearly if it is
found infringing.
This will be especially painful if the opposite party can prove, for
instance through the logs of your proxy that they subpoenaed, that you
were well aware that something was patented. If that is the case,
damages go up three-fold and even more.

Circumventing that censorship -which is what it is, plain and simple-
may not be a clever move. It may be in place to protect the business ...
and, more importantly, your pay check!
