[TriLUG] ATT gigabit internet quick review

Following up on this tread.

The AT&T “rep” stopped by the house yesterday (Apex) to talk about getting it installed. $70/mo + taxes for full GigE connection, $50 + taxes for 200Mb. Seriously considering getting this to replace my TWC connection ($55/mo for 200Mb).

Given TWC has been very good over the years (great connection, etc), I am hesitant to pull the trigger. An extra $15/mo for 5x speed sounds good on paper, but I have read some very poor reviews on AT&T's customer support for U-verse. Plus, I don’t know how much I will actually use the GigE speeds.

For those who live in/around Apex, a few questions:
* Does the service live up to the hype?
* How did the installation go? (Was the installer on time, did they have to return, did they make a mess, etc)
* What is your overall impression?
* Has the 2,000 NAT size on their device caused any issues on your end

Thanks for any input/feedback.

-Ron

I've used them for a few years. They have servers in Europe and some other countries. And, a nice app for droids. Only problem I've had is their Linux app borks with an encrypted home partition.
