Your upstream DNS servers are probably returning cached results.  To 
bypass
them, point "dig" at the nameserver you really want to ask.

dig @ns0.directnic.com rentalventures.com

Otherwise, you're just getting old news from your router, from your 
ISP,
from your ISP's upstream caching nameserver, or....
