Last I heard, Oracle's official recommendation was still *against* RAID 5.  I 
think that the last time they guys tried it at work, they found that 
performance wasn't just a little bit worse.  At that time, Oracle sucked on 
RAID 5 for some reason.

YMMV, but forewarned is forearmed.
