[TriLUG] always a day late and a dollar short...

This isn't directed at David's post, necessarily, but is more directed
at the flamousness that's permeated TriLUG since the beginning of the
year.

It appears to me that we all need to spend a lot more time on USENET.
That's where I earned my thicker skin. I know that I'm a better person
for it.

Frankly, the departures from this group lately have appeared to me as a
case of a person wanting to hurt everyone and ending up mostly hurting
h**self. They have cut off communication with a group that, despite its
failings, is pretty useful, on balance. On the other hand, if one's
personality is such that the need to leave a group in a flaming ball of
glory is irrepressible, perhaps we're better off with you gone.

Also, one would think that members of a group so technically advanced
could live by some basic survival rules. If the group discussion bothers
you, lay off for a few days and don't read that folder of mail. If there
is someone that is consistently annoying, just filter their posts into
oblivion. Or, if you're like me and worried about missing a nugget of
good information, send them to a "Possibly Crap" folder and quickly skim
through them every week or so.

Everything said here is, after all, like electrons off a virtual duck's
back.

Ok. I'll shut up now and take my lumps like a man. Flame on! :^)

Regards,
matt
